Kyle Castle · Coastal Trust Business Advisors

Tax preparation · Tax advisory · for trade business owners

You built the business. You shouldn't have to hand half of it to the IRS.

If you run an HVAC, landscaping, painting, or other trade business, tax season shouldn't feel like a second job — or a gut punch. I'm Kyle Castle, and I prepare returns for owners like you: every deduction you've earned, every deadline met, everything explained in plain English.

Tax season shouldn't feel like this

The problem you can see

The deadlines never stop

Estimated payments, payroll filings, 1099s, the return itself. While you're running crews and chasing jobs, the tax calendar keeps ticking — and falling behind costs real money in penalties.

The problem you feel

"Am I overpaying? Am I doing something wrong?"

That low-grade dread when you think about your taxes. The fear of missing deductions you've earned — or of making a mistake that comes back to bite you years later.

What we believe

You earned that money

You shouldn't have to overpay, stress, or become a tax expert just to keep what your business earned. The rules should work for you — and with the right guide, they do.

How it works — three simple steps

Click "Start Here" and pick a time

Choose a slot on my online booking calendar that works for you. No phone tag, no waiting for a callback.

Upload your tax documents to your own secure portal

Once you're a client, you get your own secure online portal (powered by Intuit) — everything goes in one place: 1099s, expense records, prior returns, whatever you have. Don't know if something matters? Send it anyway; I'd rather see it than miss it.

Rest easy while I prepare, optimize, and file your return

You'll get your return explained in plain English — what we claimed, why, and what it saved you. Filed correctly and on time, every time.

Your guide, not your babysitter

I'm Kyle Castle, a QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor and the owner of Coastal Trust Business Advisors. Before I did this work, I spent 13 years on the lending and banking side of small business — reviewing financials and approving, or declining, the loans behind companies like yours. I've seen exactly what happens when a business owner's numbers are a mess, and exactly what a clean, well-run back office can unlock.

I work with HVAC, landscaping, painting, plumbing, and other trade business owners — the people whose tax situation is messier than a W-2 employee's and who deserve a preparer who actually understands job costing, equipment, crew classification, and seasonal cash flow.

You're the expert at your trade. My job is to make sure the tax side never becomes the reason a good business struggles. I bring the map — you drive the business.

Where this ends up

With a guide

Tax season becomes a non-event

  • Every deduction and credit you've earned — vehicles, equipment, section 179 — claimed and documented
  • Deadlines met, estimated payments right-sized, no surprise penalties
  • Your return explained in plain English, so you actually know your numbers
  • Peace of mind: if the IRS ever asks questions, your records back you up
  • More of what you earned stays in your pocket

Going it alone (or with the wrong preparer)

Tax season keeps costing you

  • Missed write-offs — money you earned, quietly given away year after year
  • Anxiety every time a deadline approaches
  • Hours lost to receipts, spreadsheets, and second-guessing instead of running jobs
  • W-2 vs 1099 mistakes and records that won't hold up if the IRS looks
  • A "cheap" preparer who plugs numbers in and never asks a single question

Questions owners ask me

What does this cost?

Depends on your return's complexity — a single-member LLC with clean books is different from an S-corp with crews and equipment. The first call is free, and I'll give you a clear, flat quote before any work starts. No hourly surprises.

My books are a mess. Is that a problem?

No — honestly, that's most first calls. Cleaning up messy books before the return is part of the work, not a reason to judge. Bring me the shoebox; I've seen worse.

I missed estimated payments / filed late last year. Can you still help?

Yes. We'll get you compliant, deal with what's owed, and set up a plan so it doesn't happen again. The best time to fix it was last year; the second best is today.

Do you work with businesses outside the trades?

Yes — but trades are where I'm most useful, because I already speak your language: job costing, crew classification, equipment, and seasonal cash flow.

Is the first call really free?

Really free, really 30 minutes. We'll look at where you stand and I'll tell you plainly whether I can help and what it would cost. If I'm not the right fit, I'll tell you that too.
